Meet Jessie

I'm Jessie and I live in the gorgeous Blue Ridge mountains, just outside of Asheville, NC. My husband, Drake, and I own three restaurants in Waynesville, NC. But really, he does all of the hard work and I get to sit back and be his cheerleader!

I think the best way to describe me is laid-back and quirky. I'm a people person, but I'm pretty chill. I've been told many times that I'm very good at making people feel comfortable. I love music! I play a few instruments and no matter what song is playing on the radio, you'll probably catch me singing along!

The first time I photographed a birth, I knew immediately that it was what I should be doing for the rest of my life. It felt so natural and truly seemed to be what I’d been missing while searching for my photography niche.

In June 2020, at our amazing WNC Birth Center (now Lilac Health), we welcomed our beautiful daughter, Frankie Sue, and life hasn’t been the same since! She is an absolute dream-come-true, answer to many, many prayers, and a real miracle baby! Since then, I have had to take a step back from birth photography in order to focus on being a mom and wife. As Frankie grows older, I do hope to be able to take on more birth stories.

The first time I watched the show "New Girl", I felt like I was watching a slightly over-dramatized version of myself...even down to the name which is just weird. Shortly after that, I had friends left and right telling me "Have you seen that show New Girl? That's you!" If that doesn't tell you who I am, I'm really not sure what does.

I love everything Disney! I love the color purple....no not the movie, I've actually never seen it. I tend to think I should have been born in the 1940s and 50s! It just speaks to me. I love polka dots, earrings, red lipstick and shoes! I have Celiac and therefore I’m gluten free. Because of that, I have spent a lot of time over the last few years learning and perfecting gluten free baking. I even started a little business a couple of years ago, but quickly got overwhelmed and had to step back from it. I still thoroughly enjoy baking for people though!

Now you know about me and I can’t wait to get to know YOU!
